About
Hello, I’m Dr Megan Hofmann
I’m a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, specialising in paediatrics.
I have worked within NHS mental health services for over 16 years and within paediatric services for the past decade. In therapy, I use a range of different evidence-based, psychological therapies, depending on what would be most helpful to you. These include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Helping children and parents manage anxiety, low mood and challenging emotions.
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Helping young people (aged 15+) and parents process distressing memories and reduce emotional distress through guided bilateral stimulation.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Supporting families to navigate difficult thoughts and feelings while staying connected to what matters most.
Narrative and systemic approaches
Making sense of experiences and strengthening family connections.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Fostering hope and practical steps for change.
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
Building self-kindness and emotional resilience.
Having lived with a chronic health condition since the age of six, I understand first hand the emotional impact of health challenges on children, young people, and their families. This experience fuels my passion for supporting children on healthcare journeys—whether working directly with them or through their parents and caregivers.
As both a psychologist and a proud mum of two neurodiverse children, I also recognise the unique challenges faced by children with additional needs, particularly in medical settings or when managing health conditions. I offer both emotional and practical support to help families navigate these experiences.
If you would like my support, please get in touch.
